I’m Fred, a designer and photographer based between London and Oxfordshire. 

Inspired by the intricacies and irregularities of everyday life, I have a love of celebrating unnoticed and mundane details. My work aims to breathe new life into day-to-day interactions and intricacies that otherwise draw little attention.

Beach Identities

While human characters are shaped by perception and attitude can the same be true for locations and places?

Beach Identities explores the development of a beach's sense of place through a creative analysis of pebbles. Nature fabricates the personality of a beach, and the photographic exploration of something as simple as stones underpins the beauty and simplicity of our coastal landscapes.

Publication and photography explore the shingle found on the Cornish beaches Grebe and Chapel Porth. 

Beach Identities captures a sense of place and identity through commonality in shape and colour and line found within pebbles.
