I’m Fred, a designer and photographer based between London and Oxfordshire. 

Inspired by the intricacies and irregularities of everyday life, I have a love of celebrating unnoticed and mundane details. My work aims to breathe new life into day-to-day interactions and intricacies that otherwise draw little attention.

St Day Decay

It’s hard to believe St Day was once one of the richest villages in England. A university lead collaborative project with designer Jasmine Quinn, St Day Decay is a photographic publication that focuses on the ‘patina’ of the village. 

Since the 19th Century decline of tin and copper mining in Cornwall the village has seen little change. A spontaeous visit to St Day with just a camera ended in the capture of a series of images with focus on the decay of homes and historical sites.

Fascinated by details and history, the publication by the designers of quirks and intricacies picked up on during the day long visit to the site.
